Jill Gagnon of Shelburne was named to the dean’s list at Becker College for the spring 2018 semester. Gagnon is pursuing a B.S. degree in nursing.

Matthew Maynard of Shelburne graduated with a B.S. degree in sport management at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N.H. Maynard played for the men›s basketball team.

Reed J. Carpenter of Shelburne was one of 482 seniors to graduate from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, receiving a B.A. in English. Carpenter is the son of Scott and Lisa Carpenter.

Emma Griesser of Shelburne graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa. recently.

Alanna Pinard-Brace of Shelburne was recently named to the president’s list at the State University of New York at Potsdam. Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher are on the list. Pinard-Brace is majoring in music education.

Jalen Adam Gibbs of Shelburne, a recent graduate of Vermont Commons High School, was awarded one of four Reginaldo Howard Memorial Scholarships at Duke University in Durham, N.C. The scholarship, with an estimated value of $280,000 over four years, covers full tuition, room, board and fees for eight semesters at Duke. The award is given to students who embody the qualities of Reginaldo Howard, Duke’s first African-American student government president, including a commitment to academic achievement, leadership, community service and social justice. Howard died in a car accident in 1976.

Charles Maitland and Corey Williams were named presidential scholars for spring semester at Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y. Presidential Scholars must achieve a minimum 3.80 grade point average. Maitland was a senior majoring in engineering and management; Williams was a senior majoring in global supply chain management.

Cameron Harris of Shelburne, graduated cum laude from Tufts University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Harris and Talia Solomon, also of Shelburne, both made the spring semester dean’s list at Tufts, which lists students with a grade point average of 3.4 or higher. Tufts is in Medford, Mass.
Greer Storey, of Shelburne, was named to the spring dean’s list at Roger Williams University, in Bristol, R.I. The list includes full-time students with a GPA of 3.4 or higher.

Pearl Guerriere of Shelburne was named to the dean’s list this spring at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Conn.

Evan R. Jackson, of Shelburne, recently received a M.S. degree in forest ecosystems and society from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Ore.

Elspeth Grasso of Shelburne was named to the dean’s list at the University of Delaware for the spring semester.

Ryan Grabon-Akey of Shelburne was named to the dean’s list at Lyndon State College for the spring semester. The dean’s list recognizes those with a GPA of 3.5 – 3.9. On July 1, Johnson State College and Lyndon State College became known as Northern Vermont University.

Lindsay Andersen of Shelburne was named to the dean’s list at Johnson State College for the spring semester. The dean’s list recognizes those with a GPA of 3.5 – 3.9. On July 1, Johnson State College and Lyndon State College became known as Northern Vermont University.

Emily Posner of Shelburne graduated with a B.A. in theater and dance from Keene State College in Keene, N.H. in May.

Amanda Whitbeck of Shelburne graduated cum laude from the University of Rochester in May with a B.S. in neuroscience. Whitbeck is the daughter of Bruce Whitbeck and Marie Whitbeck.

Sam Birdsall of Shelburne has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2018 semester at Syracuse University.

Megan Folsom of Shelburne was recently named to the Castleton University dean’s list for spring semester. Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher are on the list.
