The reimagined Vermont Mozart Festival returns for a third season with 18 free and ticketed performances over three weeks, July 17 through August 5 including multiple performances in Shelburne, Charlotte and Burlington.
The summer orchestra features 30 young professional musicians ages 21-30 assembled from all over the world in performances celebrating the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in venues across Northern Vermont.
Full orchestral concerts are planned for Shelburne Farms and Stowe’s Trapp Family Lodge. Other venues include Hotel Vermont, Manhattan Pizza and Burlington Country Club in Burlington and the Charlotte Town Beach.
The festival aims to promote the highest level of musicianship in concerts that are accessible to a broad audience.
Musicians, called “fellows,” rehearse and perform 18 concerts featuring various chamber music, orchestral and concerto works by Mozart. The fellows also attend a series of music entrepreneur workshops and learn about business planning as part of the project.
Past fellows have represented schools such as the Yale School of Music, The Juilliard School, McGill University, Manhattan School of Music and the Cleveland Institute.
Upcoming local dates include Shelburne Farms on July 20-21 and 28; and three free performances at the Charlotte Town Beach July 19, 26 and Aug. 2. The full schedule and advance tickets are online at vermontmozartfestival.org. Children attend free.
