Shelburne is in for a baseball treat this weekend as the Boston Slammers, an all-girls baseball travel team, takes on the Sherbrooke Angels at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Shelburne Town South Field.

Locals will get a chance to watch the Slammers, who won the 2017 U-11 National Championship in girls baseball and reached the semifinals of the Boston Mayor’s Cup this summer.

The Slammers move up to the U13 division this year at the Baseball for All Nationals, again in Rockford, Ill., Aug. 2-5.

Elise Berger, a seventh grader at Shelburne Community School, is a member of the national champion Slammers and will take the field in her hometown on Sunday.

The first pitch is at 11 a.m., followed by a second game at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free and a concession stand will be open with all proceeds going to support girls baseball.
