Shelburne resident advises nonprofits

Meagan Downey

Chicago-based Ter Molen Watkins & Brandt, a national fundraising consulting firm, has expanded in the Northeast, naming Shelburne resident Meagan Downey vice president.

Downey will serve nonprofits across the U.S. providing strategic philanthropic counsel and resources for sustainability. She brings two decades of nonprofit management and consulting experience and serves as Gov. Phil Scott’s appointee to the Vermont State Rehabilitation Board for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

“I’m thrilled to be able to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations in Vermont and beyond,” she said.

Downey has an MBA from Champlain College and has been a certified fund raising executive since 2009. She moved to Vermont from the Chicago area in 2011.

TW&B President Don Souhrada said Downey’s addition now means the firm has consultants in seven locations throughout the U.S.
