Next meeting for Lakeview Mobile Home Park residents set for Aug. 16

To the Editor:

Thanks to all residents who attended the meeting on July 30 – the turnout was good and the meeting was productive!

We need to hold a second meeting scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m. at the Shelburne Town Offices in Meeting Room 1.

The purpose of the meeting is to sign up residents as members, incorporate as a housing cooperative, approve an initial set of bylaws, and elect an initial board of directors to help do research and determine whether it’s feasible for residents to purchase the mobile home park.

Residents should watch for a mailing from Cooperative Development Institute. This mailing will include (1) a member agreement (2) the articles of incorporation that will be used to form the co-op, (3) the initial bylaws that will be used to run the co-op. If you wish to sign up as a member, please fill out the member agreement and bring it along with $5 to the meeting on Aug. 16.

We hope to see you at this next meeting. In addition to getting your co-op formed and up and running, we’ll answer any questions you might have about the process moving forward.
