Shelburne players Gianna Ostlund and Elise Berger helped the 2017 U11 National Champion Boston Slammers all-girls baseball team defeat the Sherbrooke Angels in a recent double-header. The games were played July 29 at the Shelburne Town Little League Fields with the Slammers finishing on top 11-0 and 14-3. The first-ever all-girls baseball games held in Vermont were a tune-up for the National Baseball for All Girls Championships last week in Rockford, Ill. Ostlund participated on the U11 team in her first championships, while Berger helped the U13 team to second place finish in her second national tournament.
