Shelburne 8-year-old Finn Etter became a national champion when he won his age group in the United States Junior Disc Golf Championship held at Smuggler’s Notch Resort earlier this month. “Finn has been playing and loving frisbee golf since he was 2,” according to his father Glenn Etter. The tournament attracted competitors from 30 states and two Canadian provinces, including six players from Vermont. Finn won the Junior 8 division by 16 strokes after three rounds on the two courses at Smugglers’ Notch. Ten different age divisions were represented at the event. Finn says he made many new friends at the national tournament, and he plans to keep playing in competitions and continue improving his game.
