The Shelburne Selectboard meeting for Aug. 28 was canceled this week because the agenda was not publicly posted in time.
The meeting instead will be held on Sept. 4 at the regular time of 7 p.m. in the municipal offices meeting room.
Vermont statute states that the agenda must be posted “at least 48 hours prior to a regular meeting.”
Posting involves putting the notice online if a municipality has a website. It also requires physically posting a notice at the town offices as well as at two other locations in the community. Shelburne posts meeting notices at the post office and Pierson Library.
The agenda for Aug. 28 was posted online but the physical copies were not put out in time to meet the requirements of the law.
Interim Town Manager Lee Krohn apologized for the error.
The Selectboard regularly meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month. The board will keep its regular September schedule with meetings Sept. 11 and 25, Krohn said.
