Minecraft tonight

Kids in grades 5 and up convene at the library on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. for a fun evening of Minecraft with friends and snacks. Attendees must have a Minecraft account. Bring your own device or call 985-5124 to reserve a library computer. Please register in advance.

Book on Tap tonight

The book group for men meets at La Villa Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. for a discussion of “Da Vinci” by Walter Isaacson.

September Book Clubs

The Monday Afternoon Book Club meets at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 17 to discuss “The Girl in Hyacinth Blue” by Susan Vreeland at the town offices, Meeting Room 2.  Please note that the Wednesday Morning Book Club has now become the Monday Afternoon Book Club. The Tuesday Night Book Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 to discuss “Death Comes to Pemberley” by P.D. James, also in the town offices, Meeting Room 2. The library has copies of the books.

Genealogy news

Call to schedule an individual appointment on Wednesday afternoons with Pierson Library volunteer John Kelley for help in tracing your family roots. This fall, Kelley will lead a three-session introduction to genealogy course on Wednesday afternoons, Oct. 10, 24 and Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 2 of the Shelburne Town Offices. Free. Call the library to register, 985-5124.

Early closing

The library will close at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept.14, for staff day.
