Construction update
The existing library, which is to be razed, has been cut free of the historic Town Hall in preparation for demolition. Pedestrians – especially school students – are reminded to use the sidewalks along Harbor Road and Shelburne Road, to stay outside of the orange ribbon near the construction site and away from the Fire Station. September book clubs
The Monday Afternoon Book Club meets at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 17 to discuss “The Girl in Hyacinth Blue” by Susan Vreeland at the town offices, Meeting Room 2. The Tuesday Night Book Club meets at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 18 to discuss “Death Comes to Pemberley” by P.D. James, also in the town offices, Meeting Room 2. The library has copies of the books.

Magic the Gathering club
The club will meet at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 18. Players ages 11 and up are invited to bring their Magic Decks to the library. Snacks provided.

Back to School Wellness
On Sept. 18 at 6 p.m., Suzanne Brubaker of Water and Rock Studio will be at the library for a presentation on natural ways to support children’s health and wellness. Topics will range from recipe ideas to mindfulness strategies to using essential oils to promote physical and emotional well-being. Call to register.

Minecraft tonight
Kids in grades 5 and up convene at the library on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. for a fun evening of Minecraft with friends and snacks. Attendees must have a Minecraft account. Bring your own device or call to reserve a library computer. Please register in advance.

Genealogy news
Call to schedule an individual appointment on Wednesday afternoons with volunteer John Kelley for help in tracing your family roots. This fall, Kelley will lead a three-session introduction to genealogy course on Wednesday afternoons, Oct. 10, 24 and Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 2 of the Shelburne Town Offices. Free

Box Tops for Education
The library is still a drop-off spot for Box Tops for Education to support a nature enrichment program for students in grades K-3 at Shelburne Community School. Details online at

Story times
Patrice leads the Monday Morning Story Time at 10:30. Bring your little ones for wonderful tales read aloud. On Thursdays, Inger leads stories and songs at 10:30 a.m.
