Cate Cross on the Shelburne ballot for Justice of the Peace

To the Editor:

My name is Cate Cross. I am running for justice of the peace. I am a wife and working mother of two boys who attend Shelburne Community School.

Why am I running for JP? I am passionate about democracy and our foundational right to vote as Americans. Among other roles, JPs are members of the Board of Civil Authority who serve as town election officials for town and state elections. They also weigh in on voter purges, deliver absentee ballots, and hear and decide tax abatement appeals.

I am an alum of the Emerge Vermont program and lifelong study of the democratic process. I am active as a local volunteer and organizer.

Please vote for me for Justice of the Peace.
