Falls Road sewer line construction update

Crews continue working on sewer line replacement in Shelburne village this month. Businesses in all areas affected by the construction will remain open and access will remain available. Access to homes will remain open as well.

Project officials said this work is the final stage of the project and it is on schedule to be completed around the end of November.

Here is an update from town officials on the various sections under construction:

Route 7 – Church Street: Construction is complete except for paving on Falls Road between U.S. Route 7 and Church Street. Paving is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 7.

LaPlatte River bridge to Bacon Drive: Through mid-month, work continues between the LaPlatte River Bridge and Bacon Drive. This will create delays and motorists are encouraged to seek an alternate route.

Mount Philo Road to Bacon Drive: This week, construction began on the section from the Mount Philo Road-Marsett Road intersection to Bacon Drive.

This section of Falls Road will be closed until the end of November during construction hours only (7 a.m. to 6 p.m.) except for this first week when this section will be closed both night and day. Traffic will be diverted to a detour using Bacon Drive. This detour will create delays. Those passing through are asked to find an alternate route.
