Shelburne honors veterans next week

Shelburne is honoring veterans two ways this year.

A wreath will be placed on the Veterans Memorial in Shelburne for Monday, Nov. 12, acknowledging all of the veterans there who are honored with engraved bricks.

There will not be a formal ceremony, but Veterans Committee member Sam Feitelberg said, “The committee encourages visitation.”

On Wednesday, Nov. 14, the Charlotte Shelburne Hinesburg Rotary will host a breakfast meeting honoring the Shelburne Veterans Memorial Committee starting at 7:30 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church.

The meeting’s guest speaker will be Stephanie Cuepo Wobby, a veteran who is currently a student at the University of Vermont.

Wobby served in the U.S. Army as a Battalion Senior Medic E-5 Sgt. 2010-2016. She was assigned to Camp Victory, Iraq; Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan; and the U.S. Army Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. She received many decorations including the Combat Medic Badge and Iraq, Afghanistan and NATO Campaign medals.
