School district seeks community members for budget process

The Champlain Valley School District invites all community members to be a part of the development of the school district’s budget for the 2019-2020 school year.

Here is how to get involved:

The School Board seeks participants for a CVSD School Board Budget Advisory Group. Comprised of individuals from all of the district towns and various interested parties, the group will attend and participate in all upcoming budget-related meetings. Those interested should send an email to cvsdboard@cvsdvt.org as soon as possible. The group will have an orientation to the budget process at 5 p.m. on Nov. 27.

As the budget process continues over the next few months, the school board will hold a series meetings which the public is invited to attend. The discussion topics will build on one another as the process moves along. All of the meetings will be held at Champlain Valley Union High School at 6 p.m. Dates and topics are:

  • Nov. 27, Special education
  • Dec. 4, Instructional program
  • Dec. 18, Operations and maintenance
  • Jan. 8, Summary and tax implications

A flyer with more information is available online at bit.ly/BoardBudgetMeetings and more budget-related details are on the district website at cvsdvt.org/budget.
