Schools celebrate the arts

Students from Shelburne Community School exhibited some of their best work so far this school year at the CVU Celebrate the Arts Night event last week.

Nearly four months into the school year and students have a lot to show for their efforts.

Last week, students at Champlain Valley Union High School organized an extensive visual and performing arts show to showcase their best work to date. Celebrate the Arts Night Arts Night also included student work from the district’s K-8 schools including Charlotte and Hinesburg Community Schools.

In the Advanced Drawing and Painting class, CVU junior Megan LaForce’s watercolor depicts an interior scene.

Visual arts exhibits included drawings, paintings, sculptures and more. The evening was punctuated with live performances from choral and band groups.

The CVU Jazz Ensemble provided some of the evening’s entertainment.
