Rick Norcross and his iconic Vermont Western Swing band, The All-Star Ramblers, have been nominated for five national awards that will be announced in March.
The Academy of Western Artist members made up of Western Swing DJs from around the world announced its finalists recently and the Vermont band and individual members together garnered five nominations:
Taryn Noelle for Western Swing Female Vocalist of the Year and Western Swing Song of the Year (“Swing of The Range”); Rick and The All-Star Ramblers for Western Swing Album of the Year (“Taryn Noelle Swings”) and Western Swing Duo/Group of the Year; and Rick Norcross for Western Swing Male Vocalist of the Year.
In a message to fans and followers, Norcross said he was “stunned” at the news of the nominations and added with his trademark humor that he has ordered a larger cowboy hat for his 2019 shows.
“It is a serious honor to be named in any one of these categories, being in consideration with some truly wonderful national-level Western Swing artists and singers,” he added.
The 23rd Annual Academy of Western Artists Awards will be held March 14 on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
