To the Editor:
I’d like to formally announce that I am running for re-election to the Shelburne Selectboard.
I was elected to the Selectboard in March 2018 to serve out the remaining year on John Kerr’s former seat and I would be honored to continue my service to the town for a full two-year term.
As vice chair, I believe that I’ve contributed in a meaningful way to help the board address the town’s priorities in a diplomatic, respectful and thoughtful manner. I’ve developed strong working relationships with my fellow Selectboard members over the past year as we’ve worked with residents and other key constituencies to hire a new town manager, progress our stormwater funding strategies, vet a new Comprehensive Plan, adopt a new streamlined Ethics Ordinance and approve a fiscally sound budget for voters’ consideration on Town Meeting Day.
In a short period of time, we’ve worked together to mend frayed relationships and restore functional lines of communication with all residents and key community stakeholders. With over a year of service under my belt, I am fully up to speed on what it takes to be an effective Selectboard member and I believe that I have more to contribute to help us achieve our common vision of making Shelburne a better place to live, work and recreate.
I will continue my track record of collaboration and engagement with the public on town issues and will do my best every day to live up to and exceed your expectations in my role as a public official.
Thank you for your support on March 5 and I look forward to hearing your views, concerns and suggestions out on the campaign trail.
