Trinity Episcopal Church offers Lenten study programs

Trinity Episcopal Church, at 5171 Shelburne Road, is offering two Lenten study programs.

During its “Space for Grace” adult formation hour, 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., the church is offering a six-week discussion, “The Mystic Path of Meditation – Beginning a Christ-Centered Journey” by David Cole. This book serves as a general introduction to the practice of Christian meditation.

On Wednesday evenings, 6 and 8 p.m., during Lent, Trinity offers a study of the Episcopal Church’s new adult curriculum “The Way of Love.” According to Trinity’s Rector, Rev. Dr. Frederick Moser, “This study guides participants into meditative disciplines to deepen a relationship with Jesus Christ.”

A simple soup and bread meal is offered each week during the time of the study. A companion guidebook for the study, “Living the Way of Love,” by Mary Bea Sullivan, will be used. “The Way of Love” is inspired by Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, who preached at last year’s royal wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Books are available through Trinity’s Hopkins Bookshop. All interested person of any religious background are welcome at either or both studies. For more information, contact Trinity’s Rev. Moser, at fredmoser@trinityshelburne.org or 802-985-2269.
