To the Shelburne Community, King Street Center would like to publicly recognize Shelburne resident Scott Hadley for his dedication to children in our community over the past 12 years. Scott exhibits all the attributes you’d want in a board member – he cares deeply about giving kids meaningful opportunities, and also understands how a stable, but visionary, organization is critical to their positive growth. Scott led by example, insisting on thoughtful planning, transparency, candor at the leadership level, and being present. You could rely on Scott to be at every meeting, phone call, committee session, and golf tournament – ready with a laugh, a story, and prepared to get to work.
As he steps down from the board of directors, we’d want to publicly appreciate all that he brought to the King Street Center experience.
Scott modeled much of his service on his experience volunteering with the United Way. He believes in the power of relationships and helped King Street Center to meet many like-minded supporters. As an agent of New York Life, he was also able to help King Street Center access significant grants to support our Afterschool Program. Determined to create a space that reflected respect for our kids and families – most of whom are New Americans, Scott helped to motivate generous community members to contribute over $5.1 million to build our bright and beautiful new facility. His financial savvy was welcomed on our Finance, Development and Executive Committees over the years.
I will miss Scott’s engaging tales about Ohio State and ice climbing, humor, and steadfast care for King Street Center’s staff and kids. Please give him a wave when you see him playing Pickleball in Shelburne’s Davis Park.
