April 27
11:18 a.m. An individual dropped off a wallet found on Bostwick Road and Wake Robin Drive. Police will hold it pending notification of owner.
11:31 a.m. Kinney Drugs reported a theft. Police located the individual in question and issued a trespass notice.
4:21 p.m. Police found a vehicle with a trailer disabled on Barstow Road and waited with it until a wrecker arrived to remove it.
6:20 p.m. Police did a welfare check on an individual on John Street and determined they were fine.
8:46 p.m. Police checked out a report of a suspicious man and woman on Collamer Circle but no one was there when police arrived.

April 28
1:03 a.m. Burlington Police requested assistance in locating a vehicle seen leaving the area of an incident in their city. Vehicle and driver were located on Longmeadow Drive and information was forwarded to Burlington Police.
1:06 a.m. A suspicious man was reported in the area of Shelburnewood Drive. Police found a man and identified him.
1:18 a.m. Police located two juveniles who were determined to have left a residence without a parent’s knowledge or consent. A responsible parent was contacted and took custody of them.
4:15 a.m. Police found a vehicle which had been driven onto the grass at Shelburne Bay Park and was stuck. The vehicle had been stolen from a nearby property. Police contacted the owner.
8:28 a.m. Police received a report that a tractor-trailer had caused damage to common property the previous night on Acorn Lane. Police are investigating.
11:03 a.m. A caller on Spear Street reported that a vehicle had struck his mailbox overnight. Some vehicle debris was at the scene. Police are investigating.
2:40 p.m. A caller on Falls Road reported that unauthorized vehicles were parked in handicap access area to the LaPlatte River access. Police located the vehicles and owners and took appropriate enforcement action.
5:25 p.m. Police mediated a dispute at Harbor Place. No criminal violations were found.
8:56 p.m. Police received a call about a man and a woman creating a disturbance at Shelburne Road and Tamarack Shores. Officers located the individuals; they took the man into protective custody and transported him to detox. No criminal charges were filed.
11:09 p.m. Police assisted Williston Police with a theft investigation at Harbor Place.

April 29
1:30 a.m. A caller reported a man damaging traffic signs on Shelburne Road near the South Burlington-Shelburne town line. Police are investigating.
1:40 a.m. Police checked out a report of a suspicious man near Harbor Place but were unable to find anyone.
1:59 a.m. Police located a juvenile from South Burlington who appeared to be out on Shelburne Road without a parent’s knowledge or consent. Police contacted a parent and gave the youngster a ride home.
2:32 a.m.  Police assisted UVM Police in attempting to locate a vehicle involved in an incident on their campus.  They did not find the vehicle.
12:38 p.m. Police assisted Community Outreach at Harbor Place.
1:53 p.m. Police assisted with Driver Education class presentation at Champlain Valley Union High School.
1:40 p.m. Shelburne Rescue assisted Charlotte Fire and Rescue at a motor vehicle crash on Ethan Allen Highway and Ferry Road. Two patients were transported to UVM Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.
6:50 p.m. Animal control was notified about a report of two dogs loose on Marsett Road.

April 30
7:35 a.m. Police assisted with a Driver Education class presentation at CVU High School.
12:22 p.m. Police located and identified a driver after receiving a call about an erratic vehicle on Shelburne Road.
4:02 p.m. A 911 caller reported an erratic motorist travelling south on Shelburne Road. Police were unable to locate the vehicle and forwarded details to Vermont State Police who located the vehicle in Charlotte.
8:21 p.m. A caller reported an unsupervised fire in wooded area near Irish Hill Road and Spear Street. Fire, Rescue and Police were dispatched and the fire was extinguished.

May 1
12:33 p.m. A caller reported a possible sick fox near Creekside Drive. A police officer checked the area but was unable to locate the animal.
7:02 p.m. Police checked out a report of a transient individual loitering around a business near Falls and Shelburne roads. An officer located the woman who left when police asked.

May 2
9:13 a.m. One person sustained minor injuries and was taken to UVM Medical Center after a two-car crash on Vermont 116. Police, Fire and Rescue responded, took statements from all involved and filed a crash report.
10:52 a.m. Police located, identified and released a reported erratic motorist on Shelburne Road.
1:19 p.m. A caller on Old Orchard Lane reported smoke near a home. Fire, Rescue and Police responded but no active fire was found.
2:30 p.m. Kinney Drugs on Executive Drive reported a theft. The suspects left in a vehicle before police arrived. Police are investigating.
3:52 p.m. An individual on Hullcrest Drive reported receiving a threat towards family members. Police are investigating.
4:49 p.m. Animal control was notified about a report of a stray dog near Shelburne Commons on Shelburne Road.
11:30 p.m. Burlington Police requested assistance in locating a missing person. Shelburne Police located the individual, determined the person needed mental health assistance and took them to UVM Medical Center.

May 3
3:42 a.m. Police located an unsecure business on Graham Way, checked it and secured it.
1:06 p.m. Police accompanied Community Outreach with an individual at the Days Inn. No assistance was needed.
2:20 p.m. Police were called to CVU High School for a 911 call placed by a student. No emergency was found.
2:49 p.m. A caller suggested a welfare check on a woman at Spear Street and Webster Road who was outside and appeared to be agitated and screaming. Police found her but she said she did not need assistance.
3:41 p.m. Police mediated a dispute between neighbors on Nashville Road.
6:50 p.m. Police assisted UVM Police with interviewing an individual on Harbor Road regarding an event that occurred on the UVM campus.
9:03 p.m. Police checked out a report of an erratic motorist. They found the vehicle a short time later near Shelburne Road and Maple Leaf Lane but it was unoccupied and the driver could not be found.
9:20 p.m. At a traffic stop on Shelburne Road, police charged James Slater, age 54 of Middlebury, with Driving Under the Influence. He was released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division.

Jan. 26
4:25 p.m. Police found a vehicle which had driven off the road and onto a lawn on Dorset Street. The driver, Jeffrey Casey, age 27 of Middlebury, was taken to the police station and released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, to answer to the charge of Driving under the Influence.
3:10 p.m. Police, Fire and Rescue were dispatched to check a report of smoke coming from an electrical outlet at a home on Shelburne Road. Investigation found no active fire.
3:30 p.m. Police, Fire and Rescue were dispatched to an unoccupied home on Martindale Road where water was spotted coming out of the home. Firefighters entered and stopped the incident.
4:09 p.m. Police checked out a report of an attempted burglary at a business on Shelburne Road. No entry appeared to have been made. Police are investigating.
11:01 p.m. Police escorted an individual who would not leave the Days Inn on Shelburne Road.

Jan. 27
1:07 p.m. Police were dispatched and took statements from all involved in a minor motor vehicle crash on Shelburne Road. Police filed a Vermont crash report.
11:58 p.m. Police enforced the winter parking ban.

Jan. 28
8:36 a.m. Police were called to conduct a welfare check of an individual at Vermont Teddy Bear. The individual was fine.
10:20 a.m. Police took a report regarding the theft of about $1,000 of tools from a commercial vehicle on Shelburne Road. Police are investigating.
4:56 p.m. Police took a fraud report from an individual on Green Hills Drive.

Jan. 29
3:03 p.m. Police went to Harbor Place to assist South Burlington police who were looking for a vehicle and occupants involved in an incident. They did not find the vehicle.

Jan. 30
5:37 a.m. An individual stopped by the Shelburne Police Department to report past activity for which he believed he should be arrested. Officers determined that no crime had occurred. The man was given a courtesy ride to UVM Medical Center for further assistance.
9:25 a.m. Retail theft reported at Kinney Drugs on Executive Drive. Police identified a suspect and issued him a trespass warning.
6:20 p.m. Caller reported a tractor-trailer stuck in the intersection of Webster and Shelburne roads and blocking traffic. It was gone before police arrived.

Jan. 31
12:26 p.m. Shelburne Police, Fire and UVM Rescue were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at Spear Street and Barstow Road. Drivers were evaluated but not taken to the hospital. Both damaged vehicles were towed from the scene. A state crash report was filed.
8:07 p.m. Animal control was notified after a call reporting concern for the welfare of dogs at a residence on Spear Street.
8:59 p.m. Shelburne Police located a man walking near Spear Street and Barstow Road wearing dark clothing and not properly dressed for the cold weather. The man appeared to be in emotional distress. Officers gave him a ride to Hinesburg.

Feb. 1
12:53 p.m. Police escorted an individual refusing to leave Harbor Place on Shelburne Road.
9:16 p.m. Police assisted Vermont State Police and Charlotte Fire-Rescue at an incident on Spear Street in Charlotte.

Feb. 2
8:41 p.m. Police mediated a family dispute on Shelburne-Hinesburg Road. No criminal charges were filed.

Feb. 3
12:32 a.m. A 911 caller reported sparks and heavy smoke in a building on Church Street. Shelburne Police, Fire and Rescue were dispatched but found no active fire. A hazard was removed.

Feb. 4
7:49 a.m. Animal control was notified after a caller reported two large dogs loose on Stokes Lane.
3:11 p.m. Animal control was notified about a stray dog on Gardenside Lane.
6:57 p.m. A caller reported a motorist driving erratically on Irish Hill Road and Thompson Road. Police made contact with the driver and took appropriate enforcement action.
10:18 p.m. Countryside Motel on Shelburne Road reported that an individual who previously had trespassed there had returned. Police arrested Daniel Culver, age 45, of Baltimore, Vt., and transported him to the Shelburne Police Department for processing. Culver was released on a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, to answer to the charge of Unlawful Trespass. Police gave him a courtesy ride to South Burlington.

Feb. 5
9:14 p.m. Police went to Webster Road near Lilly Creek Lane to check out a report of a man dressed in dark clothing who was hitchhiking. Police found the man who was intoxicated, took him into protective custody and transported to detox.

Feb. 6
8:09 a.m. Police, Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash at Shelburne and Clearwater roads. Two individuals were evaluated for possible injuries but declined transport. A state crash report was filed.
12:07 p.m. A caller reported a dog that appeared to have been struck by a car on Pond Road near Frog’s End. Animal Control was notified.
5:52 p.m. Police and Fire assisted traffic and closed Irish Hill Road for a short time due to icing conditions.

Feb. 7
8 p.m. Police mediated a family dispute on Shelburne Road. No criminal charges were filed.
8:47 p.m. Police served an Abuse Prevention Order to a resident on Brook Lane.
11:10 p.m. Police located a man hitchhiking on Webster Road and gave him a ride home.

Feb. 8
11:17 a.m. Shelburne Rescue dispatched to assist South Burlington Fire and Rescue at a medical call on Greening Avenue in South Burlington. Rescue transported a patient to UVM Medical Center.
10:34 p.m. Police assisted Vermont State Police by providing a Drug Recognition Officer for an evaluation.
