May 25

4:52 a.m. At a traffic stop on Shelburne Road police issued a citation to driver Patrick McCauley, age 23 of Burlington, to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, to answer to the charge of Negligent Operation.

9:33 p.m. An officer stopped a vehicle on Shelburne Road for a traffic violation. The driver, Katie McConnell, 34, of South Burlington, was taken to the police station and cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, to answer to the charge of Driving under the Influence.

May 26

12:31 a.m. Police went to Dorset Street and Irish Hill Road after getting a call that a tree was down and blocking both lanes. The officer remained on scene until Highway Department workers removed the tree.

10 a.m. A caller from Gardenside Lane reported items stolen from a vehicle overnight. Police are investigating.

10:29 p.m. Police were notified of an intoxicated man near the Veteran’s Memorial on Church Street. Police found Christopher Hayden, age 50 of Shelburne, to be in violation of court-ordered conditions of release and was cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division. Hayden was taken into protective custody and transported to detox.

6:35 p.m. Background and safety check for a new Shelburne Rescue member.

9:50 p.m. Police mediated a dispute among neighbors on Addie Lane.

May 27

10:57 a.m. Police mediated a dispute among neighbors on Henry Street and offered alternatives should certain conduct continue.

12:19 p.m. An individual came to the police station asking for assistance with a domestic situation. The person had significant injuries from an assault earlier in South Burlington. Shelburne Rescue transported the individual to UVM Medical Center, and the case was forwarded to South Burlington Police for investigation.

6:19 p.m. A caller reported a large snapping turtle in the road at Mt. Philo Road and Wild Ginger Lane. Police responded with a few minutes and found the turtle had already made it across the road.

May 28

10:28 a.m. A caller was concerned about a mother duck with several ducklings trying to cross Shelburne Road near the Shelburne Museum covered bridge. Police were dispatched but the ducks were gone when the officer arrived.

11:03 a.m. A caller from Falls Road reported losing a purse the previous day. The purse was found.

12:37 p.m. Kinney Drugs on Executive Drive reported a retail theft. The suspect left the store but was nearby when police arrived. Police issued a trespass notice and restitution was made.

May 29

5:44 a.m. A caller on Harrington Avenue called to complain about a rooster crowing at 5:30 in the morning. Animal Control was notified.

8:58 a.m. A passerby reported and described to an officer a vehicle that had nearly struck a bicyclist and was last seen driving south on Greenbush Road in Charlotte. An officer checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

10:32 a.m. Police found a commercial vehicle to be overweight at an inspection on Harbor Road at Turtle Lane.

1:04 p.m. Kinney Drugs reported a retail theft. The suspect left the store before police arrived. Police are investigating.

May 30

8:40 a.m. An officer assisted with a large group of school children walking from school on Harbor Road at Turtle Lane to Shelburne Farms.

12:22 p.m. A caller reported a large amount of debris in the road at Barstow and O’Brien Roads. An officer assisted with traffic during cleanup.

2:22 p.m. An officer assisted with a large group of school children walking back to school on Harbor Road at Turtle Lane from Shelburne Farms.

3:49 p.m. Police checked out a report of a woman passed out in a vehicle on Shelburne Road. Police located the driver who appeared fine. She said she was taking a break in the middle of a long commute.

May 31

7:45 a.m. Police ticketed an erratic driver on Shelburne Road.

10:25 p.m. A caller on Deer Run Drive reported concern about a vehicle repeatedly driving fast through the neighborhood. Police found, met with the driver, and took appropriate enforcement action.

12:04 p.m. Police assisted South Burlington Police with a disturbance at the GGT Tibet Inn on Shelburne Road in South Burlington.

12:51 p.m. Driver safety check for a new member of Charlotte fire and Rescue.

4:17 p.m. Police assisted the Chittenden County Sheriff’s Department with an eviction and trespass notice on Nashville Drive.

6:20 p.m. Theft report from an individual at Shelburne Bay on Pine Haven Shores Road.

9:42 p.m. A caller reported a suspicious man dressed in dark clothing walking through the neighborhood on Boulder Hill Drive. The man told police he was a neighbor out for a walk.

10:21 p.m. Multiple callers reported a man walking in and out of Shelburne Road traffic. Police found the man and provided gave him a ride to a nearby relative.

June 1

10:28 a.m. A police officer spotted a window had been broken overnight at the former and now-vacant Shelburne Steakhouse building on Shelburne Road. A vandalism report was made and is pending additional leads.

11:43 p.m. Police responded to a call regarding an intoxicated woman creating a disturbance at a location on Vermont 116. The woman was turned over to a family member.

June 2

1:46 p.m. Kinney Drugs reported a retail theft. Police officer located the individual involved and determined she had an outstanding arrest warrant. Tiffany Richardson, age 29 of Shelburne, was arrested, issued a trespass notice and lodged at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility

June 3

6:52 a.m. Police, Fire and Rescue responded to a vehicle fire at Shelburne and Bostwick roads. The fire was extinguished. No one was injured.

7:09 a.m. Police assisted with a cow in the roadway at Bay and Harbor roads.

3:50 p.m. Kinney Drugs on Executive Drive reported a retail theft. Police located the individual in question, issued a trespass notice and property was returned to the store.

6 p.m. A vehicle was towed from the no parking area near the Shelburne Fire Station.

June 4

3:03 p.m. Police and Outreach staff assisted with a dispute between guests at Harbor Place on Shelburne Road.

7:32 p.m. Police located a cow in the road at Bay Road and Harbor Road. They notified the owner and it was removed.

June 5

5:14 a.m. A caller at Wright House on Harrington Avenue called to complain about a rooster crowing. Animal Control was notified.

3:36 p.m. Police helped mediate a dispute regarding property between two individuals on Nashville Road.

5:20 p.m. Shelburne Police located a man at North Star Motel on Shelburne Road who was wanted for an outstanding warrant. Kevin Martin, age 31 of Hinesburg, was arrested and lodged at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility.

June 6

2:06 a.m. A caller on Penny Lane reported seeing a man looking in vehicles.  Police checked the area but were unable to locate anyone. An officer later identified and released a man on Shelburne Road matching the description.

3:03 a.m. A caller on Creekside Drive reported hearing banging outside her residence. Police responded and found a man in the area who said he was banging on the building to scare off a black bear.

7:23 p.m. A bicycle was found on Shelburne Road, tagged and stored at the police station.

June 7

8:21 a.m. One person was taken to the hospital following a one-car crash on Vermont 116. Shelburne Police, Fire and Rescue and Hinesburg First Response responded.

9:09 a.m. A caller on Longmeadow Drive reported the theft of items from his vehicle. Police are investigating.

10:57 a.m. Kinney Drugs on Executive Drive requested a trespass notice for an unwanted customer. Police located the individual and issued a trespass notice.

12:23 p.m. Kinney Drugs reported a retail theft. Police were unable to locate the suspect.

1:19 p.m. Police assisted with traffic control during the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

1:56 p.m. A caller from Shelburne Bay on Pine Haven Shores Road reported the theft of items from her home. Police are investigating.

3:01 A caller on Henry Street reported the theft of items from his home and vehicle. Police are investigating. 8:30 p.m. Driver safety check for new Shelburne Rescue member.

9 p.m. Police returned a wallet found on Harbor Road to its owner.
