New library, town hall quite an accomplishment

Saturday, Sept. 14, saw the grand opening of the new library and renovated Town Hall. Public turnout was incredible. The festivities would not have been possible without the hard work of library staff, municipal support, and hundreds of hours of volunteer labor. Thank you all so much.

The Trustees of Pierson Library would like to thank everyone in Shelburne for their support of the library in so many ways. Your support made possible the successful completion of our dream of a building in Shelburne that was designed from the ground up to serve as a library. A project this large requires a huge commitment on the part of a huge number of people and so many of you stepped forward without being asked. Please be sure to come by and see what you have accomplished.

The renovations of Town Hall have restored the building to its original beauty. It is so exciting to have the Historical Society housed there and we look forward to many programs in the hall sponsored by many organizations, including the popular book sale hosted by the Library Friends in October.

Thank you all again for your support and emotional connection to the library and Town Hall, and I look forward to seeing you there.

Chair, library trustees
