Aug.17 

8:28 p.m. Police were dispatched to Wildwood Court to investigate a complaint of suspicious activity. Those involved left prior to police arrival.

Aug. 18 

12:05 p.m. Police responded to a vehicle lock-out on Irish Hill Road. The vehicle was unlocked.

8:01 p.m. Police did a welfare check on children at Harbor Place and determined the children were fine.

Aug. 19 

1:06 a.m. Police provided assistance after a report from a caller from New Zealand that her daughter was stranded on Shelburne Road.

5:20 p.m. Police are investigating a report of possible fraud on Penny Lane.

6:20 p.m. Police are investigating a reported fraud from an individual on Olde Orchard Lane involving cell phone information used to fraudulently obtain money from a bank account.

8:49 p.m. Police checked out a report of fireworks on Gardenside Lane. Officers located and spoke with the individuals involved.

9:24 p.m. Police assisted a Grove Lane resident after a bat entered her home.

Aug. 20 

11:48 a.m. An individual on Henry Street reported ongoing concerns with a neighbor.

12:27 p.m. Police and Rescue responded to a report of an individual experiencing a mental health crisis at Harbor Place on Shelburne Road. The individual was transported to the hospital.

9:19 p.m. Police responded to a report of fireworks being set off on Spear Street, but could not locate anyone.

10:38 p.m. Officer stopped two vehicles driving erratically, possibly racing on Shelburne Road. Appropriate enforcement action was taken and no criminal charges filed.

Aug. 21 

9:36 a.m. Police took a theft report from a caller on Stonegate Lane who reported items stolen from a vehicle overnight.

9:45 a.m. Police mediated a dispute between a resident and utility workers on Richmond Drive.

11:30 a.m. Police took another theft report from a caller on Stonegate Lane where items were stolen from a vehicle overnight.

1:18 p.m. Another report regarding items stolen from a vehicle overnight on Stonegate Lane.

1:59 p.m. Police checked out a report of individuals going into the abandoned Yankee Doodle Motel on Shelburne Road. The officer was unable to locate anyone.

4:32 p.m. Police are investigating a fraud report on Shelburne Road involving a business check forgery.

Aug. 22 

11:36 a.m. Charlotte Fire requested a driver safety check for a new fire-rescue member.

7:34 p.m. Police are investigating a retail theft at Kinney Drugs on Executive Drive. The person involved was identified and located by police.

8:25 p.m. Police responded to a reported family fight on Shelburne Road. Officers spoke with individuals involved and did not file criminal charges.

9:05 p.m. Rescue and police checked on a report of a man passed out and possibly involved in a bicycle accident on Shelburne Road. The man was determined to be uninjured but intoxicated. He was taken into protective custody and transported to detox.

Aug. 23 

8:47 a.m. Police received a report of an individual riding a bicycle erratically and creating a traffic hazard on Shelburne Road and Bay Road but officers were unable to locate the bicyclist.

9:47 a.m. Police responded to an attempted retail theft at Kinney Drugs on Shelburne Road. The person involved was identified and issued a notice of trespass.

10:38 a.m. Police issued a notice of trespass to an unwanted guest at a location on Shelburne Road.

10:48 a.m. Police checked on a man who appeared to be in distress near Shelburne Road and Harrington Avenue.

11:20 a.m. Police and Shelburne Rescue responded to a report of an individual threatening self-harm on Harrington Avenue. The individual was evaluated on the scene.

1:19 p.m. Police issued a trespass notice to an individual at Kinney Drugs on Executive Drive.

9:46 p.m. An officer checked on a man at a bus stop at Shelburne Road and Martindale Road who was found to be intoxicated. He was taken into protective custody and transported to detox.

Aug. 24

8:05 a.m. Police checked out a report of vehicles that appeared to be racing on Shelburne Road, but officers were unable to locate them.

10:17 a.m. A caller on Harbor Road reported hearing gunshots the previous night. The incident could be a Fish & Wildlife violation and investigation is continuing.

Aug. 25

1:38 p.m. Police took a report regarding illegal dumping on Penny Lane.

6:02 p.m. Police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Webster and Shelburne Roads. No injuries, but it was described as a possible road rage incident. Police identified the drivers and are investigating.

Aug. 26

12:34 p.m. Kinney Drugs on Executive Drive reported a man loitering outside the business going through trash. The individual was gone when police arrived.

3:46 p.m. A caller reported a possible unauthorized campsite along a trail near the town moorings at Bay Park on Bay.
