Megan Kloeckner

People of Shelburne

This summer Megan Kloeckner will visit Austria, Switzerland, France, and Italy with the People-to-People Student Ambassador Program, along with two other Shelburne girls. For 20 days the girls will immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of these beautiful countries, they will complete a community service project, and they’ll meet with government officials. Shelburne News will report more on this program and the students who will take off on July 8 in a future issue. Meantime, here are some more details on Megan’s life.

 

 

Family: Megan’s parents are Gisele and Andy Kloeckner. Her mom is a commercial lender at TD Bank in Burlington, and her dad is a deposit compliance officer for Merchants Bank. Megan has a younger sister, Allison, who is 10 and is in fifth grade at SCS.

 

Education: Megan is a freshman at CVU. Her favorite subject is history. Megan has done gymnastics since she was 3 years old. She began this hobby at Gymstar in Shelburne, and she continues to enjoy the sport very much.

 

Career: Some day Megan would like to be an archeologist because her favorite subject is history, and she loves learning about ancient cultures and countries, such as Greece. Thinking well ahead, she says that she wants to go to college in Maine.

 

Favorite food: Apple crisp

 

Hobbies: Gymnastics, reading, and writing

 

Music: Whatever is on the radio, but in particular Taylor Swift

 

Movie: Chick flicks: "The Proposal," Megan loves Sandra Bullock

 

First Concert: Kelly Clarkson at the Champlain Valley Fair

 

Bucket List: Going to Europe, and traveling
