Catherine Matosky
Catherine Matosky is a born and raised Vermonter who grew up in Rutland, left Vermont for a short time, but soon returned. Matosky is a partner with the training and consulting firm Porter Knight, LLC. Here are some other interesting facts about her life and work in Shelburne.
Family: Catherine and her husband, Jeremy, have been together for 16 years, and married for 13. They have two children, an 11-year-old son, Jacob, and a six-year-old son, Caleb. Both boys attend Shelburne Community School. Jeremy is the president and owner of Trudell Consulting Engineers based in Williston.
Education and career: Catherine was born and raised in Rutland. She attended Rutland High School, and then went to UVM for college. There she studied medical technology. Upon graduating from UVM, Catherine moved to Atlanta, Ga. She worked at Emery Hospital in Atlanta as a medical technologist. Catherine worked in the blood bank's lab at the hospital for one year before a job opened up at IDX in Vermont, and she decided to move back to her home state. Her first position at IDX was as an installation consultant helping hospitals to install medical laboratory software. For this position, Catherine traveled all around the country, including as far away as San Diego, Calif., which she said was her favorite spot.

Here she worked closely with customers to develop software and project management. With this position, Catherine was still able to do some traveling. After Catherine met Jeremy, the couple decided to move to Boston. They lived there for four years and Catherine worked for another medical software company. After their first son was born they decided to come back to Vermont. When they moved back they purchased land in Shelburne and moved to Williston while they built their house. They have lived in their Shelburne home for seven years.
Upon returning to Vermont from Boston, Catherine worked for IDX , this time in its marketing department until the company became GE.
In June of 2009, Catherine and Porter Knight became partners of Porter Knight LLC, a consulting firm that works with small businesses to increase workplace productivity and office organizing. Catherine explained that essentially, she specializes in project management and process documentation and design. The company provides businesses and organizations with tools and systems to help employees organize time, space, and "stuff."
Catherine works out of her home office in Shelburne, and Knight works from her home office in Bristol, and both travel around Vermont.
Favorite food: Pizza
Hobbies: Reading and outdoor activities with her family, such as skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, and camping in the summer.
