Shelburne Art Center
Art camps for all ages and abilities

Shelburne Art Center (SAC) camps are designed to meet the developmental stages of different age groups. Younger children touch and play with many different mediums to develop fine motor skills and to learn to express themselves through art. School-age children continue to develop and refine these skills with more advanced two and three-dimensional work such as in wheel-thrown pottery, metal arts, woodcarving, mosaics, and firer arts.
SAC campers also explore painting, color theory, and texture in a variety of visual arts classes ranging from experimental painting to cartooning. Additional summer camps (for various ages) feature bookmaking, digital photography and Photoshop, fabric creations, and sculpture.
This year SAC has two new teen camps for children ages 13-17. One of the camps features cartooning. Teens learn more than simply how to draw a humorous images, they learn to develop characters and story lines while learning the fundamentals of drawing. Another new camp for teens features innovative painting techniques such as marbling and experimental painting methods.
These activities help children find their place in the world as creative, expressive, and productive human beings and artists. No matter what your child's artistic interest, SAC offers a colorful spectrum of opportunities for budding artists of all ages and inclinations.
SAC features five weeks of camps for children ages five to 17. Half-day sessions are offered for campers ages five to seven, and 13-17; full day sessions are offered for children ages eight to 12. Camps run from July through August.
