Dorothy Bouchard Verchereau - So.Burlington

Dorothy Anne Bouchard Verchereau passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Vermont Respite House in Williston. She was born in Burlington, Vt. on Aug. 19, 1930 the daughter of the late Leon Gustave Bouchard and Stella Marie Cardinal. After graduating from Mount St. Mary's Academy in Burlington, she worked several years for the New England Telephone Company. During that time she began her study of voice with Gloria Grandy and Dr. William Tortolano. Dorothy was married on Oct. 7, 1950 to Emile "Mike" Verchereau. They were married for 59 years. He predeceased her on Jan. 23, 2010. She was a member of the St. Michael's Oratorio Society and the St. Joseph's Choir in Burlington. Among her survivors is a brother Ronald and wife Antoinette Bouchard of Shelburne. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to the Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, Vt. 05495.
