Wed, Mar 10th 2010 01:00 pm

Talent from the Shelburne Community School joins forces with the Rogers and Hammerstein Music Library to bring "Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" to the stage Friday and Saturday, March 12-13. Showtime for both performances will be 7:30 p.m.

The story is told that Jacob had 12 sons and Joseph was his favorite. A multi-colored coat was given to Joseph as a special gift from his father and the 11 brothers were upset that they were ignored. Two narrators (Delphine Vandal and Julia Sokolowski) tell what happened between Joseph and his brothers. The story takes the audience on a journey where they meet Jacob (Lucas Hilker), Pharaoh (Amanda Whitbeck), Potiphar (Will Kay), and other characters. The Choir, featuring Juliet Walsh, Pearl Guerriere, and Anna Cataldo supports the narrators in the telling of the story.

The directors of the show are Bonnie Douglas, Jennifer Sokolowski, and Tom French. The student director is Emma Griesser. Tickets for this lively, colorful musical are $6 for adults and $5 for students: call 985-3331.
