Elizabeth Arnold Clough, R.N. - Williston

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Clough, 72, passed away peacefully early Thursday, March 11, 2010, at The Arbors in Shelburne following a lengthy illness. Born on July 29, 1937, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late S. Averett Arnold, M.D., and Florence (Talbot) Arnold. On March 22, 1986, in the First Congregational Church in St. Albans, Betty married David L. Clough. She graduated from Bay Shore High School in 1955 and received her nursing degree in 1961 from Columbia Presbyterian School of Nursing. Betty was nursing floor supervisor for many years at the former Mary Fletcher Hospital and then was an in-service instructor. Survivors include her husband, David of Shelburne. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at noon in the Heald Funeral Chapel, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans. Betty's family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
