An excellent student and soccer player, Sophie Johnson takes Shelburne by storm with her bubbly personality and fun spirit. Many people know Sophie, as she has lived in Shelburne all her life. However, few know what her hobbies are, her dream job, and other quirky tidbits that make Sophie Johnson who she is.

A little bit about Sophie: Sophie Johnson is 13-years-old and lives in Shelburne, Vermont. She lives with her mom, Maureen Harmon and dad, Chris Johnson. Her siblings are Leight and Hannah, who are fraternal twins. Leight and Hannah are juniors at CVU. Her pet, Beau, is a cuddly, sometimes vicious black and white cat that also lives in the Johnson household. A very interesting fact about Sophie's life is that her mom is a pathologist; a person who studies germs. Stereotypically, the mom is the one who stays at home, does the laundry, and prepares meals, but in Sophie's family her dad is the one that stays at home.

Hobbies: Sophie is a very active girl. She enjoys soccer, basketball, swimming, skiing, and boating. When she has spare time, Sophie loves to paint her nails. "It's one of the things that calms me down at night and helps me think. Yes I know, a little strange," Sophie said. Out of all of her extra-curricular activities, soccer is her all-time favorite sport. On her team, Sophie plays the position of goalie.

Favorite food: "Tomato, basil, and mozzarella salad, I love the blend of the flavors and the taste."

Favorite subjects: English and social studies. Sophie has a love for writing and history.
Fantasy destination: Sophie says. "My dream destination is the island from ‘Lost,' a TV show that I love to watch."

15 years from now: "I have no idea what I'm going to do or who I'm going to be, the possibilities are endless."

Meet Erica Issenberg, an eighth grader at Shelburne Community School. Many people might not know Erica, although she is a smart, very unusual, fashion-loving 13-year-old.
Family: Erica, along with her family, Gail, Bob, and little sister Holly, have lived in Vermont their whole life. She has other family that lives in Australia and Singapore. Erica has a little dog named Cory as well.

Hobbies: When Erica is not attending school, she loves to play basketball, along with other SCS friends, go hiking, play tennis, go skiing, and go swimming in the summer. One of her favorite activities is shopping, because Erica absolutely adores fashion. Her dream job is to be a fashion editor, because "I love fashion, and I love to write."

Hidden talents: Erica has another hidden talent that very few people know about; geography. Erica can name every single country in Africa, as well as its capital. That is something very difficult to accomplish, it takes a lot of time and effort. Go Erica!

Favorite animals: Erica also has a very strange side of her. Her favorite animals are platypus, hedgehogs, and wombats. "They are very unusual animals, and I am a very unusual person!" Erica can somewhat accurately imitate the noises these animals make. Her pet peeve is when people take her socks.

Dream destinations: When asked, "Where would you like to go someday" Erica replied with the answer Greece. "It's so beautiful!" Then she added later, "But since I'll be a fashion editor, I'd love to go to Milan, or Paris! They are big fashion cities." In fifteen years, Erica will be traveling around the world working as a fashion editor.
