Michael L. Miccolo, MD, FACS

Michael L. Miccolo, M.D., FACS, 56, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at home. Born in Burlington, he was a graduate of Montpelier High School. Michael did his undergraduate work at the University of Vermont, in biology. He then went on to the University of Vermont, College of Medicine for his medical degree. He did his surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. Michael was an associate professor of clinical surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, a surgeon with Medical West Associates, and also was the assistant medical director for Cigna in Worcester, Mass. He was the medical director for the Fallon Community Health Plan in Worcester, and currently iHealth Technologies in Atlanta, Ga. Among his survivors are his wife, Janet (Thomason) Miccolo, DDS; three stepchildren, William Dunkling of Newport Beach, Calif., Angela Dunkling of Shelburne, and Thomas Dunkling of Shelburne.
