Ernest Emile Pomainville, 82, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, surrounded by his family, at his home in Shoreham. Mr. Pomainville was born in Brandon on Jan. 24, 1928. He was the son of Victor and Juliette (Desautels) Pomainville. He received his early education in Shoreham Schools and was graduated from Newton Academy in Shoreham. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army Air Forces and served in various duty stations around the country. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Shoreham and life on the family farm. He later purchased the bulk milk hauling route and established Ernest Pomainville Inc. trucking. He had served his community as a member of the Shoreham Selectboard. He had also served on the Middlebury Union High School Board. He retired to Port Orange, Fla. in winters, where he enjoyed his home on the golf course. Among his survivor, a daughter Shelley DuBois and her husband, Moe, of Shelburne.
