Mark and Melody Wetmiller of Shelburne, Vt. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsey Kate, to Timothy Price Furnary, son of Stephen and Cathy Furnary of Rye, N.Y.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Champlain Valley Union High School and St. Lawrence University (‘07). She is currently in the assistant teacher program at the Brunswick School in Greenwich, Conn. and pursuing her master's in childhood education at Bank Street College of Education on the Upper West Side of New York City.

The groom-to-be graduated from Rye High School and from St. Lawrence University (‘03). He runs the personal lines department for Gunn, Steers and Company, an insurance brokerage company located in New York City.

On the evening of November 23, 2009, Tim asked Lindsey if she would like to go to Caffe Buon Gusto for dinner, where she and Tim shared their first date in NYC. After being seated at the exact same table where the two sat on their first date, Lindsey was handed a menu. On the last page of the menu, Tim had inserted typed a note that read: "Dear Lindsey, Will you marry me? Love, Tim." Naturally, Lindsey said "yes."

An August 2010 wedding in Stowe is planned.
