Former Shelburnite to play Jazz Festival

Zachary Campbell, former Shelburne resident and CVU graduate, will play in Burlington's Discover Jazz Festival on Saturday, June 12 from 12-1:30 p.m. at the City Hall stage on Church Street. His band's name is Octopus Arnold's Sharktoberfest. Campbell will play drums, along with Mike Hardin on piano, Chris Barosky on bass, and Dean Buck on tenor saxophone.
Since his graduation from CVU two years ago, Campbell has been studying music at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City.
"I've been exposed to so much amazing and diverse music since I've been here [N.Y.C.] and it really has given me a lot of inspiration and opened my mind to so many possibilities," said Campbell.
Campbell played his first Discover Jazz Festival when he was in the eighth grade at the Shelburne Community School. However, this will be the first year his own band will play and he is pleased to be in town to play at Burlington's festival.
