Shelburne Vineyard acres planted by laser guided machine
Last week Shelburne Vineyard planted five acres of its property with a method only used the second time in Vermont: a state-of-the-art German manufactured laser-guided planting rig. The machine is guided by a laser to ensure super straight rows and leaves identical spacing between the vines.
This spring, the crew that planted for Shelburne Vineyard has been planting vineyards up and down the east coast. Their final stop is in Indiana before they return home to Ontario.
In two days, the group planted a total of 400 vines on the vineyard's property in Shelburne, and 3,500 vines in Charlotte. The anticipated harvest time for the vines is in the fall of 2012.
