Rosalie Schneider and her husband have lived in Shelburne for 20 years. Rosalie recently became a member of the Charlotte/Shelburne Rotary Club. Here are some interesting additional tidbits about her life.

Family: Rosalie and her husband, Steve, have been married for 31 years. They met at Goddard College when they were both adult students. Rosalie and Steve have two children: a son, Hans, and a daughter, Mimi. Hans is a manager at Outdoor Gear Exchange and recently graduated from St. Michael's College. Mimi just graduated from UVM and lives in South Burlington.

Education and career: Rosalie was born in St. Louis, Miss. and lived in Minneapolis throughout high school. Post high school she moved to Washington, D.C. and started working for a congressman on Capitol Hill. Her first position was an entry level job as a congressional aide. Rosalie later became the assistant to Jim Howard who was in the legislature from New Jersey. Next Rosalie became a corporate lobbyist in the food industry. She then worked in international public affairs. Throughout her working life, Rosalie had taken undergraduate courses, but decided it was time to matriculate and get her undergraduate degree. She enrolled at Goddard College and received her bachelor's degree in humanities.

After her son was born, Rosalie decided to be a stay-at-home mother, and chose to work from home for her husband's business, Schneider's Sales Associates. Steve travels around New England and sometimes farther selling outdoor gear, outside accessories, kayaks, etc. to retail stores. He has owned the business for 30 years. Rosalie is in charge of the marketing and financial end of things.

Three years ago Rosalie decided to get her master's degree in mental health counseling. Now she is taking a writing course at UVM and hopes to write her own book one day.
And about two weeks ago, Rosalie became a member of the Charlotte/Shelburne Rotary Club, and is thrilled to be a part of the organization.
