Family: Christy and her husband, Jack, met when the two were going to UVM. They will have been married for 14 years come early July. Jack and his business partner own Quantitative Partners Inc. Christy and Jack have two children: Brooks is 10 and will be in the fifth grade in the fall, and JB is eight and will enter third grade in the fall. Both of the children go to the Shelburne Community School (SCS).
Education and career: Christy attended SCS as a child, spent one year at CVU, and then transferred to Rice High School for the last three years of high school. She then went to UVM and majored in political science and minored in history. During her time at UVM Christy held an internship in Washington D.C. with Jim Jeffords. After graduation from college, Christy and Jack moved to Colorado for a year and then moved back to Vermont for five years. Christy's first job following graduation was with the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation under the department of agriculture. This was during the first Bush administration and after Bush lost the presidential race to Clinton; Christy laughs and says that she got her "pink slip." When she and her husband returned to Vermont for five years, Christy worked for the Boys and Girls club as its capital campaign coordinator. After the campaign was finished, Christy went on to work for Paul Kaza Associates in its public relations department. She worked here for five years. Next, Jack and she decided to move to California. Jack is from Hawaii and had family in California, and they moved to San Diego. Christy worked in public relations there until she became pregnant with their first child. After seven years in California, the couple decided it was time to return to Vermont to raise their family. Now, in between taking care of her children, Christy does interior decorating consultations and some freelance public relations.
