Baseball camp begins second week

Wed, Jun 30th 2010 01:30 pm

Twenty-six Little League baseball players had a great time and learned a lot during CVU baseball camp last week according to head baseball coach and camp director Tim Albertson.

They took batting practice and learned skills such as base running, outfield play, bunting, rundowns, and infield play from current and former players such as Andrew Nick, Alex Farrell, Alec Zullo, Lawrence Halvorson and Tucker Kohlasch. Even the two days of rain didn't dampen the participants spirits. Instead they enjoyed playing wiffleball and Danish roundish, a game Albertson learned from MMU coach Bob Slayton.

Currently 14 Babe Ruth athletes are in attendance for the second week of camp June 28-July 2 .

"We're having a very successful baseball camp," said Albertson. "It's going great."
