Longtime Shelburne resident Joanne Lavallee is one of the sweetest women you will ever meet. She loves her family, friends, and community, and she loves living in Shelburne. Here is some more about her life, family, career and more.

Family
Joanne and her husband, Ed, have been married for eight years. Joanne has four children: son David Myers is the music director at SCS and is commander of the 40th army band; daughter Carolyn works at Fletcher Allen Hospital; son Steven lives in Shelburne and owns a company that conducts safety training for businesses; daughter Angie is in sales for 99.9 The Buzz radio station. Joanne has eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Joanne also has three step-children and six step-grandchildren. She and her husband have many baseball games, ballet recitals, graduations etc. to keep them busy throughout the year!

Education and career
Joanne was born and raised in the Burlington area. After graduating from Cathedral High School she accepted a job with Howard Bank, thus beginning a 25 year career in banking. She spent 12 years with Howard Bank, then 13 years working for Chittenden Bank, where she helped open its Shelburne branch. Joanne then received an offer from GE to do its payroll, and worked there for the next 12 years until she "retired," but continued working various part-time jobs. Currently, Joanne is a grandmother elf at the Christmas Loft, a position that she thoroughly enjoys. After 46 years of living in Shelburne, Joanne praises the close-knit community where she has numerous friends.

When Joanne isn't busy with her family or working at the Christmas Loft, she spends time on the St. Catherine's Parish Council, planning a Salvation Army dinner or helping her neighbors.
