Roses, roses, and more roses

The roses shown here are grown by Charlotte resident Yvan Plouffe, who regularly brightens many people's days in Shelburne when he gives bouquets away. Plouffe grows over 10 varieties of roses in his greenhouse each year. Those 10 varieties produce an average of 10,000 roses each season, which runs from when the snow leaves in April until October or November. Each week Plouffe takes the time to fill bucket after bucket with roses and then drops them off to people in the area. If you walk into Chittenden Bank, the Town offices, or other businesses in Shelburne, you may see a stunning bouquet of roses by the receptionist's desk. Plouffe said he has been growing roses in Charlotte for the past 20 years. "My mom loved roses, so I started growing them for her. Now, I give them to everyone who loves roses."
One act of kindness truly does make the world smell sweet!
