The Champlain Valley Jr. tennis team will hold their State Championship tournament on Friday and Saturday, July 30-31 at the Davis Park tennis courts in Shelburne each day until 7 p.m.
Jr. Team Tennis, a United States Tennis Association program, is a multi-week program of team practice and match play for boys and girls, ages 6 to 18, who want to play tennis on co-ed teams. Teams are co-ed and comprises players of similar age and skill, and they compete against other teams from the same geographic region in one of four league divisions: 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, or 18 and under.

The winners of the state championships earn the opportunity to participate in the New England Sectional Championships at UMass-Amherst Aug. 18-19.

The field includes teams from Sports & Fitness Edge of Essex, Sports & Fitness Edge of South Burlington, St. Albans, Manchester, and Middlebury.
