Ark Veterinary practice in Shelburne has organized a pet food drive and has made it easy for people to donate food to help local pet owners in need this holiday season. According to Ark's Kris Anderson, "we are asking for donations to purchase $10 bags of cat or dog food and $5 donation purchases for 12 cans [of pet food]. We have the food here in the office.  People can mix and match however they want and any dollar amount is greatly appreciated!" Ark will match all donations and will make sure the pet food is distributed to the local food shelves in Shelburne, Charlotte, and Hinesburg with any extra given to the smaller animal shelters in our area.

As a thank you to their clients and friends for participating, Ark asks donors to fill out a card that will be displayed in the office. Each card will be entered into a drawing to take place at the end of the month for free Ark gift certificates."So far we have had great response," Anderson offered. "It just goes to show what a wonderful community we live in and how lucky we are for that. Every year we hear of more and more pets being relinquished because the owners can no longer afford to take care of them. We all know how important our pets are to us and our families."
